Society and people – what can we expect?

The future trends are shaping our society in many different ways, and people are expecting the great things from the future. But, in some ways, the things aren’t looking so bright. We have nearly exhausted our natural resource, and if we continue with this rate, scientists predict that human race will need to start looking for the next habitat. But, let’s explore the ratio between society, people and culture that surround us and what future holds for us.

Population growth

This is one of the pressing issues, the leading countries that which are contributing this growth are China and India, with the most significant number of residents. In the last hundred years, the Earth has become overpopulated, and we have cases of immigrant leaving their native countries because they can’t find a job and earn money for basic needs. On the other hand, there are countries like England and Japan where a population is aging, and the life expectancy is increasing. The baby boomers who are now starting their lives, finishing colleges and looking for employment are in a difficult position.

There is more diversity

The human race has become more liberal than ever.  We are not afraid to express our religion, race, disability and sexual orientation. For example, being a single parent isn’t a shame anymore, or expressing your belief over food. The people have become more emancipated, and they have learned to accept differences, which is a huge step forward. Maybe in the last couple of years, people have become cautious regarding Islam considering the recent events that have been shaking the world. Even though we accepted the differences, people don’t feel safe, and this will be the primary issue in the following years. Learning to accept the changes, but also to be safe will be the goal for the future generations.

Increasing inequalities

The gap between wealthy and poor people have become more increased in the recent years. The middle class doesn’t exist anymore. People are working more and earning less. There aren’t enough job positions for everyone, and many developing countries are struggling to produce good economy for their citizens. Also, poverty is a significant issue that is pressing many nations which are struggling with their population. They are trying to produce a right economic climate, but poverty is increasing as we speak and the biggest problem is that many children are staring all over the world.

Globalization and identity

As the technology grows people are losing their status, now everything has become public, and people have lost their way regarding privacy. The use of technology has enabled us many things, but in this process, we have lost our identity. People tend to represent the fake reality, by using different social networks, which allow them to be what they are not. Even though we are free to express our beliefs, we have become slaves to technology. In this case, we are required to find a balance, if we want to stay sane.
